Highlands Hammock State Park
I took a day trip here back in May 2010. It is a very nice state park about 30min south of Orlando. This was a CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) built park which I find very interesting. The CCC built/improved several State and National parks during the depression. Click here to read more about the CCC.
The park consists of a CCC museum, campground, and several nature trails. One day I will make it back to camp here for a couple days.
